While designing the studio, we were limited to 1200 square feet because of Hidden Hills zoning restrictions. Our current studio is 1400 square feet, therefore, losing the 200 square feet was a difficult and painful process. The design of the studio went thru many permutations but ended up being fairly simple and straight-forward. After Joel was happy with the plan, he turned it over to our Construction and Design company who then went on to make the final plans. As we stand right now, we are in plan check with the city.- November 2005
Hidden Hills lies in the far west side of the San Fernando Valley. The homes in Hidden Hills are primarily horse properties. Horses seem to take priority over everything. All the lots tend to be large and provide a rural atmosphere while still being in the big city. Many composers have settled in Hidden Hills. The main draw back of the area is that cell-service sucks. Here are some photographs of the lot where the new FreeClyde studios will reside.- October 2005
